Mary L. Domenichini

1923-2014 NORTH ADAMS Mrs. Mary L. D'Arcangelo Domenichini, 91, of 22 Lyman St. North Adams, died Monday June 16, 2014 at her home. She was born in North Adams, on February 22, 1923 daughter of Raffaele "Ralph" D'Arcangelo and Pasienza "Alice" Pedercini D'Arcangelo. She attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School. Mary was first employed at the former J.J. Newberry's. She then worked with her late brother, Nini in the operation of Nini's Hallmark Store. Mary enjoyed cooking and was a devoted homemaker to her family. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and member of its Rosary Society. Mary was a member of the Italian Catholic Girls Club and the Sons of Italy. She was the widow of Peter Joseph Domenichini who died on October 16, 2005. They were married on July 13, 1946 in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Alice Karam and her husband, John of Belchertown, Mass.; two grandchildren, Jessica Macintosh and her husband, Scott of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Aaron P. Durant of North Adams. She also leaves her sister, Dorothy DePaoli of North Adams and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Mary was pre-deceased by her daughter, Silvia Domenichini Durant on October 3, 2004; her son -in-law, Russell W. Durant on August 1, 2011; her grandson, Jeremy Karam on September 20, 1993; and her brother, Vincent J. "Nini" D'Arcangelo on September 6, 1999. Mary's family wants to extend a special "Thank you" to Diane O'Neil and all her caregivers. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Mary Domenichini will be Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:15 AM from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
