Paul Peter Saldo, II

1931-2012 PITTSFIELD Paul Peter Saldo, II, of Pittsfield, died on September 13, 2012.

Born September 25, 1931 in Pittsfield to Paul and Sofija (Semczuk) Soldo, Paul grew up on the family farm in the Cottsville section of Pittsfield with his 10 siblings.

Paul worked hard all of his life driving heavy equipment, as well as constructing foundations and front-end alignment work. He loved all sports and was particularly good in bowling getting a 7/10 split during a league tournament.

Paul enjoyed helping to build stock cars with his brother Joe Saldo, and his brother-in-law Biago Albertazzi. Paul was very proud of helping his Croatian/American Father, who immigrated to Adams in the early 1900's, to obtain his U.S. citizenship.

Paul was pre-deceased by his wife Betty Shaw of Pittsfield. They married in St Mary's Church in Cheshire, 1951.

He is survived by his children, Paul Saldo, III, of Lee; Sharon Saldo, his long-time caregiver, of Pittsfield; David Saldo and daughter-in-law Diane Saldo, of Stamford, Vt.; Daniel Saldo, of Adams; Peter Saldo and daughter-in-law Kelly Saldo, of Olive Branch, Miss.; and Matthew and daughter-in-law Carol Saldo, of Stamford, Vt. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph Saldo, and wife, Mary, of Pittsfield; and Leo Saldo, and wife, Mary of Lanesboro.

Predeceased, are brothers Paul Saldo, of Cheshire; John Saldo, of Pittsfield; Antonio Saldo, of Pittsfield; Frank Saldo, of Dalton; Peter Saldo, of Pittsfield; and sisters Mary Albertazzi Saldo, of Lanesboro; Anna Roy Saldo, of Adams; and Eva Saldo, of Pittsfield.

A private service honoring Paul Saldo II's life was held at St. Mary's Church in Cheshire Mass.
