Dear Phil, It's been a year since you left us and we have moved on but have not and never will forget you. I miss the times together with the Captain...we always had a good laugh and so much fun at the cookouts together. You left so suddenly and that hurts but I am blessed to have met you and spend the time with you. Forever in our hearts you will stay xoxo.....Always

Phil, it's just about a year since you took that train ride to Heaven. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. Mom misses you terrible. I've sent an angel to you...I know he would enjoy train rides with you and learning all about them. He talked about how you showed him things and he asked you a lot of questions...he was a very inquisitive 9 yo :)
We had our days, but you were a good man Phil and I'm glad you and Mom had many good years together.
Sadly, I wish I had met your daughters before everything happened, but I have talked to Barbara and Pam often...they are sweethearts and you should be real proud of them.
Love you and miss you,
Kathy

You left us very suddenly - no time to prepare for what would lie ahead, a journey of a road uncharted. I can't remember a time when you weren't there. There was a celebration of life in your honor, but truly, nobody celebrated your life better than you did.
Once again, fair winds and following seas! Love and miss you.

Dad,
For fifty-two years I was able to talk to you, and you were always there to listen to me rant and rave about one thing or another I miss you all the time. Most of you are gone now, you mom and Charlie. Sometimes I feel so all alone, and then one little memory brings a warm feeling and a smile. Here's to you dad. I'm ok.

My father has been gone almost 1 year now. There has not been a day since that I haven't and thought about him and wonder what really happened that day that caused him to be taken from us. I miss my dad!

It was a historically long, cold, snowy Winter and another special Angel, Kathy's grandson, was sent to Heaven. Your presence, although not reachable, remain in our hearts as we are nearing the first year (July 15th) of your passing. I love and miss you so much and I need to say, " Fair winds and following seas! Thank you for your service to your country (your Navy Retirement well deserved) and to us, your family. You were always there!
Rest in Peace

I'm so sorry to hear of Phil passing. He was a great guy and I remember him fondly from all the time I spent at PVLS with him and my dad when I was young. He had an irresistible spirit and was never averse to give a young kid guff when it was warranted! He was a good man and I'm a better one for having known him.

Phil was my "stepfather" for 17 years. He was very set in his ways, but had a kind and giving heart.
This week, while planning his Celebration of Life, I am humbled and honored listening to the stories of his life and the kindness he shared. I've not gone one place where there wasn't someone who loved him.
He was a very wise and smart man (had an angle on everything, pun intended)and I think he could fix a broken raincloud if given half the chance.
Phil, you will be missed by many. I think of the train ride you are on now with so many friends and loved ones who have gone before you.
Rest well!
With love,
Stepdaughter Kathy and husband Ralph

To family and friends who take the time to read and enjoy the following messages in memory of my father, Phillippe.
Often it has been said German is a language lacking in romance, love and emotion. However, my Dad proved that to be incorrect.
Us girls road, what I called the Gypsy Train, throughout our lifetimes, visiting him at each of his destinations. There was a tenderness about my father, not often shown. While he seemed to be a man ever content when at work on his hobbies, the welfare of his family was first and foremost. He had a deep appreciation for the life he was living. My memory bank overflows with all that he has filled it with- fiftynine years worth, and I know that each of you will have stored your own memories away, memories that will have included him. He was a smart man, a wise man, sometimes an impatient man, but he was our Dad and I loved him!
