1920-2012 PITTSFIELD Mr. Pietro Umbro 92, of 69 Mohegan Street, Pittsfield, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in Polia, Province of Catanzaro, Italy on March 8, 1920 a son of the late Vito and Maria (Fabio) Umbro and attended Italian Schools. He came to United States in 1948. He was employed at the former Berkshire Woolen Mill in Pittsfield and most of his life he was a carpenter and employed by construction companies in Berkshire County and retired in 1985. During World War II he served with the Italian Air Force. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and enjoyed Gardening, Dancing, & Carpentry.

Survivors include his wife the former Amilia Panaiia and they were married on February 23, 1952 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Pittsfield, three Daughters, Marie Rogers and her husband Arthur of Pittsfield, Teresa Pratt and her husband Eric of Dalton, Rose Miller and her husband Tim of Albany, N.Y. Five Grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mark Williams, Tara Pratt Greenbush, Eric Pratt and his wife Nicole, Maxwell Miller, Weston Miller. Three Great Grandchildren, Jordan Greenbush, Giovanni Venable, Jacob Pratt.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 8 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA. 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, November 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.
