Rose Belisle

1920-2013 ADAMS Rose Belisle, 93, of 9 Country Club Ave., died Thursday, November 21,2013 at North Adams Commons Care Center Born in Adams on February 15, 1920, daughter of the late Albert T. and Mary A. Beaubien Gregoire, she attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1938. Her first place of employment was for the former Gale Shoe Co. in North Adams as a bookkeeper. She then attended the former Berkshire County Day School where she became a teachers aid and was employed for several years for the St. Stanislaus School and the former Notre Dame School, both in Adams. Rose was employed with the North Adams Hoosac Savings Bank for several years, and for the Parish of Notre Dame in Adams for 25 years as a bookkeeper. She was a communicant of the former Parish of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne and she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Adams Senior Citizens, and the Adams Study Club. Rose was also a Den Mother for the Adams Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts in her younger years. Her husband, Francis L. Belisle, whom she married on August 22, 1942, died April 14, 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Belisle of Moultonborough, N.H.; a son, Francis L. Belisle Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Parker, Colorado; a brother, Francis E. Gregoire of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; three grandchildren, Charlotte Wilson, Joseph Belisle, and Rachel Galvin; a close cousin, Patricia Boisvert of Adams; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Albert Gregoire; and three sisters, Helen Lord, Reta Lilienthal, Dorothy Lefebvre. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Rose Belisle will take place Monday, November, 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Blessed John Paul, in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations in her memory can be made to the Pope John Paul Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.
