Rosemary Barbara Leach

1929-2014 Rosemary B. Leach, 84, peacefully passed away, January 6, 2014 at Kimball Farms Care Center. She was born in Pittsfield on November 13, 1929 to the late Walter and Anna Stockley Zalenski. Rosemary attended local schools and was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She worked for Sears Roebuck & Co., and retired after 28 years of service. She was a Campfire Girls leader for 8 years and also taught catechism at the former St. Francis Xavier Church. Rosemary is survived by her son, Edward J. Leach of Boston; her three daughters, Nancy A. Cecchinato (John) of Canaan, Conn., Barbara J. Bissaillon, (Kenneth) of Poinciana, Fla., and Jennifer R. Laurin (Michael) of Pittsfield; her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Leach Brace of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; her sister, Dorothy Watroba and sister-in-law Marge Zalenski of Pittsfield, her brother-in-law, James C. Leach (Judith) of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews, her nine grandchildren, Geoff Leach, Michael, Timothy and Rebecca Bissaillon, Heather Wetzstein, John Jr., and Jessica Cecchinato and Michela and Soleil Laurin; her eight great grandchildren. Rosemary was predeceased by her husband, Donald E. Leach Sr., her son, Donald E. Leach Jr.; her brother, William Zalenski, and her sister, Shirley Zajac. FUNERAL NOTICE: Leach, Rosemary B., died March 6th. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 13th at St. Charles Church, beginning at 10AM with the Rev. Peter Gregory, pastor, officiating. There are no calling hours and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosemary's memory, to either the National Parkinson Foundation, or to the Reaching New Heights at St. Charles Church, in care of the funeral home.
