Steven D. Wilbur

1954 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Steven D. Wilbur, 59, of Crane Ave., passed away unexpectedly at Berkshire Medical Center, following a sudden illness. Born Oct. 31, 1954, in Pittsfield, the son of Donald R. and Lois L. Cady Wilbur, he was a 1972 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School and obtained an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Berkshire Community College. Steve was a color laboratory technician at Crane & Company in the Byron Weston Mill for over 20 years until his retirement, was a founding member of the Berkshire Grime Fighters cleaning company, and the owner of SW Cleaning. He enjoyed dancing and playing in golf tournaments with his wife, playing tennis with his daughters, and was an accomplished handyman and grill master. Steve leaves behind his wife, Marites "Tess" Wilbur, whom he married Jan. 1, 2005; daughters, Justine Wilbur and her husband, Luke Karpinski, of Littleton, Mass., and Kristin Wilbur of Manchester, N.H.; sister, Jean M. Wilbur of Dalton; brother, Richard W. Wilbur and his wife, Vicky, of Hellertown, Penn.; grandchildren, Alexander and Zoe Karpinski; niece, Stacy Kerr and her husband, Donovan, of Lower Macungie, Penn.; nephews, Joshua Nocher of Pittsfield, and Craig Wilbur of Catasauqua, Penn. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Steven D. Wilbur will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 12, at BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, with Father Christopher Malatesta, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 4th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
