1954 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Suzanne Marie Schroeter, 60, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center after battling an extended illness. Sue was born on April 12, 1954, in Manhasset, N.Y., to the late Louis and Doris (Mauderer) Schroeter. The Schroeter family settled in Lenox in 1970 and operated the Morgan House in Lee, as Sue graduated from Miss Hall's School in 1972. Sue continued her education in Florida and Arizona. She had various professional interests before settling in Pittsfield in the 90s to raise her son. Until her retirement in 2012, Sue worked for Starbase Technologies in Pittsfield. She was a devoted member of South Congregational Church where she contributed in various capacities. Sue found peace of mind through her faith and her love for music. She lived a positive and humorous life that impacted everyone around her. Suzanne is survived by her son Kaare Francis, from whom she found the strength to survive her long and difficult illness; her brother, Lou of Williamstown; her sister, Carol of Arizona; four nephews, and her beloved dog, Sid. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate the life of Suzanne Schroeter will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 10 a.m. at South Congregational Church, 110 South St. Pittsfield. Private burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. There will be no calling hours.
