Madeline M. Farrington

1923-2013 PITTSFIELD Madeline M. Farrington, 89, died suddenly at home, on Monday.

Madeline was born in Lenoxdale, on August 17, 1923, the daughter of the late James A. and Katherine J. (Feeney) Farrington. She was educated in local schools and was a 1941 graduate of Lenox High School. Madeline was employed as a secretary at the General Electric Company in Pittsfield for 42 years before retiring in 1985.

A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, she was a member of its Rosary Sodality. Additionally, she was a member of both the G. E. Quarter Century and Pensioners retirement clubs.

Madeline is survived by a brother, Joseph H. Farrington of Dalton, Rosalie Gibbs her niece and primary caregiver of Pittsfield, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her four sisters, Alice Rose, Katherine Harold, Rosalie Gibbs and Vera Taylor and brother James A. Farrington.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling Hours will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home 40 Maplewood Ave. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday February 1, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, 196 Elm Street, in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Ann' Cemetery in Lenox.
