William Carty

William P. Carty

1962 - 2012 LEE William P. Carty, 49, of Washington Mountain Road in Lee, died Thursday, Oct. 4, at his home after a long battle with diabetes.

He was born Dec. 29, 1962, to his loving parents, Robert M. and Roxine L. Adamoli Carty. Besides his parents, he leaves his beloved daughter, Jessica M. Carty and her fiance Matthew R. Montini of Lee, and Jessica's mother, Darlene Y. Carty; his two brothers, Robert D. Carty of Springfield and Matthew P. Carty and his wife Elena Rebrina Carty of Lee; his nephew, Joshua R. Carty and his niece, Sara N. Carty, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins. William was a cherished and devoted, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be intensely missed.

He was a lifelong resident of Lee and was very fond of his Lee high school graduating class of 1980, with many of whom he played peewee, juniors and high school football. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan.

William joined his father, Robert, and his late Uncle, Robert Clark, in the family construction business known as Beaver Builders in 1980. He was an avid sportsman and helped start the Stockbridge and Lee Sportsman's Club's Pistol league. He enjoyed shooting skeet, archery and pistols competitively.

He accepted everyone and was a very giving person. He was an excellent auctioneer and donated his time to many benefit auctions. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques. William will be greatly missed by his dad, who was his partner in antiques and tag sales. A sparkle is gone from the family circle; this loss has left a huge hole in our hearts, but we still have our special memories.
