Barbara D. Walker

1939 - 2018

Barbara D. Walker, 79, of Hinsdale, MA, passed away May 28, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in Manhattan, NY on Valentine's Day, 1939, the daughter of the late Glenn and Patricia O'Day Dodds.

Ms. Walker attended schools in New York City and Berkshire Community College. Primarily a homemaker, she was an accomplished artist, having many art shows and selling countless paintings. She was a jazz singer in the 1960's and traveled with a jazz trio performing primarily in Manhattan and St. Thomas, VI. Barbara loved gardening and was happiest in the woods.

She leaves behind her daughter, April Brickle-Griesemer and her son-in-law, Michael Griesemer, of Gloversville, NY, her son, William S. Walker, of Boone, NC, her grandson, Adam C. Brickle, and her "adopted" granddaughter, Brennah E. Brickle. She also leaves three nieces, Daria Dodds, Terry Cicack, and Carrie Dodds and her sister-in-law, Eleanor Dodds.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:00pm at Maple Street Cemetery in Hinsdale, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Berkshire Humane Society or Childfund International, in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
