Born in Lanesboro, Mass., on May 22, 1928, son of Reginald L. Sherman Sr. and Lillian Lester Sherman, he attended New Lebanon schools.
Mr. Sherman was a self-employed contractor, working in construction and related fields, among other endeavors.
He was a communicant of Church of the Immaculate Conception in New Lebanon.
He and his wife, the former Joy Pegorari, were married Aug. 21, 1948, in St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge, Mass.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Linda Geibel of Lunenburg, Mass., and Dawn Murad of New Lebanon; two sisters, Loretta Gallup of Lebanon Springs and Carole Sherman of Wheaton, Ill., and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Reginald L. Sherman Jr. will be celebrated Thursday at 10 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 20, New Lebanon, by the Rev. John L. Close. Interment will follow in Cemetery of the Evergreens. A reception will be held in the church hall afterwards. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your prayers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Memorial Fund or to Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene Counties in care of HALL & HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown, NY 12168. He was the loving husband of the former Joy Pegorari. He also leaves two sons-in-law, George Geibel and Anthony Murad; three grandchildren, Kari Murad, Jenna and Matthew Geibel, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, George and Robert Sherman.
