Adele Szufnarowski

1927 - 2013 ADAMS Miss Adele T. Szufnarowski, 85, of 1 Berkshire Square, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, with her family by her side at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Adams on March 14, 1927, daughter of Henry and Victoria (Kuropatwa) Szufnarowski, she attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

Upon her high school graduation, Miss. Szufnarowski moved to Virginia and worked for over 50 years in Washington, D.C., as a secretary for the United States Naval Department. She moved back to Adams after her retirement.

She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. She enjoyed crafting, especially making Rosary Beads. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by her sister, Helen O'Neil and her husband James of Adams, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Thaddeus, Frederick and Anthony Szufnarowski and by four sisters, Ceil Szufnarowski, Alice Lepak, Gladys Sirard and Sophie Brooks.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 11, at 9:30 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Stanislaus Kostka School, 108 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220.
