1933 - 2015 FLORIDA, MA Mr. Alan D. Poirot, 82, died on Friday, November 13, 2015, with his family by his side at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in the Town of Florida on April 18, 1933, son of the late Adrian and Tressie (Burdick) Poirot. He attended schools in Florida and North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. Mr. Poirot was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the United States Army until receiving his Honorable Discharge on April 5, 1955. Mr. Poirot was the owner and operator of Alan Poirot Bulldozing and Landscaping. He also worked for various construction companies in the area. He was a member of the Florida Baptist Church. He was a former Berkshire County Deputy Sherriff, Florida Town Constable and the Florida Highway Superintendent. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Josephine Pelletier, whom he married on February 2, 1957; one daughter, Julie Poirot of Florida, MA; three sons, Stephen Poirot, Todd Poirot and his wife, Anne and Kyle Poirot, all of Florida, MA; two daughters-in-law, Corinna and Stephanie Poirot; one sister, Helen Sundquist of Maryland; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
