LANESBOROUGH Albert Lindenschmid, 95, died at home on August 3, 2014, after a long illness.He was born in Reichenbach, Germany, earning a Master Machinist degree before entering the U.S. in 1956. He worked at several machine shops in Berkshire County, then started his own business. He retired in 1989 and enjoyed spending time working in his yard and visiting with his grandchildren. He held private pilot licenses in Germany, Canada, and Massachusetts and he flew light planes and gliders. He loved flying and watched airplanes for hours on end. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Mary (Bazonski) Owens Lindenschmid; a daughter, Beth Lindenschmid Mick and husband, Kenneth M. Mick Jr. of Lanesborough; grandchildren Kenny, Karl, Mary, and Katie; a niece, Greta Mayer, husband, Adolf and family of Ennahofen, Germany; brothers-in-law, Leon and Raymond Bazonski; sisters-in-law, Nancy Gifford and Betsey Morritt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. His smile and sense of humor remained as he amused family and caregivers alike. He will be greatly missed.
