1924-2015 PITTSFIELDAlbert T. Ricci, 91, of Pittsfield died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, he was born in Pittsfield on May 7, 1924, a son of the late Thomas and Concetta Colella Ricci. He was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Albert went on to proudly serve his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was employed as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for twenty-seven years retiring in 1984. He had also worked for ten years at the former Elmvale Worsted Mill and for ten years at the former Slye Brothers Air Conditioning. Mr. Ricci was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and the former All Souls Church. He was a member of the Froio Senior Center and the National Letter Carriers Association. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, crossword puzzles, following the New York Yankees and attending all of his grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. Above all else he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife, the former Frances Adornetto with whom he would have celebrated 67 years of marriage this coming July 24 th. They were married at the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on July 24, 1948. Three sons; Gary A. Ricci and his wife Cherilyn of Rome, Maine, Ronald J. Ricci and his companion Marlene of Pittsfield and John M. Ricci of Pittsfield. A daughter; Judith R. White and her husband Alan of Pittsfield. His brother; Alfred Ricci of Pittsfield and his sister; Margaret Polidoro of Pittsfield. He also leaves his six adored grandchildren; Aimee, Alicia, Rebecca, Sara, Aaron and Bethany and his five great grandchildren; Deonte`, Tayvon, Alexis, Sierra and Hailey as well as his daughter-in-law; Patricia Ricci of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by three brothers; Joseph, Patrick, and Harry Ricci and by four sisters; Helen Rossi, Rose Sarocco, Sue Parise and Mary Rizzo. The Ricci family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Dr. Kahn and the BMC staff, BMC Renal Dialysis, and the County Ambulance staff for their care and compassion given to Albert over the years. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Heisecki. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Albert T. Ricci, 91, of Pittsfield who died July 10, 2015 will be held Wednesday at 10:15 AM from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter Naranjo, parochial vicar. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, (Today) from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Albert may be made to the Friends of Renal Dialysis in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
