Obituary Condolences

Albert Edward Rondeau 1922-2012 NORTH ADAMS Mr. Albert Edward Rondeau, 89 of 48 Pinehill Terrace North Adams, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at home under the loving care of his family. He was born in North Adams, on November 19, 1922, son of Albert B. and Eudocha (Holland) Rondeau. He attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1942 and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1950. Albert was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 104th Infantry Division "Timberwolves" in Europe until his honorable discharge on December 6, 1945. Albert worked as an electrical engineer at the former Sprague Electric Co. in its filter division for 34 years before retiring as a senior product engineer in 1984. He was an active communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and volunteer for many years. Albert enjoyed building things. He designed his own home and helped build it. After his retirement, he enjoyed travel and was an active member of the National Timberwolf Association, enjoying many trips to reunions with his wife, traveling through all but nine states. Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Ann Brelia, whom he married on November 26, 1949. Besides his wife, he leaves five children: Susan Lecorre, and her husband, Joel of Ottawa, Canada; Karen Rondeau-Brigham, and her husband, David of North Adams; David Rondeau, and his wife, Gail of Adams; Alan Rondeau of North Adams; and Diane Dwyer, and her husband Ken of Webster, Mass. Seven Grandchildren; Marc Lecorre, Carolyn Lecorre, Ethan Brigham, Aaron Brigham, Samantha Dwyer, Meghan Dwyer, and Julie Dwyer. One sister- Vivian Dale of Williamstown. He also leaves a sister in law, Rose Rondeau, and a brother in law, Robert Purdy, and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased including Andrew "Bud" Rondeau, Nelson Rondeau, Eudocha "Dolly" Richard, Lillian Wiles, and Jean Purdy. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Albert Rondeau will be celebrated Monday April 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA are Monday morning from 9:30a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church or the in care of the funeral home.
