Alice McClintock

1920 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Alice McClintock, age 95, passed away peacefully on March 31 at Springside Nursing Home. Alice was born on March 13, 1920 in Pittsfield to Tancrede and Domenica Piccini. Raised in Pittsfield, Alice married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" McClintock, in 1942 and they celebrated 63 happy years together. They raised three daughters in Pittsfield while Alice truly enjoyed the homemaking arts. She especially enjoyed sewing and gardening. Her perrienial gardens were admired by many. Alice and Chuck retired to Arizona in the early 1990's. Chuck provided devoted loving care for Alice after a series of strokes left her physically debilitated. She retained her keen intellect and sense of humor to the end. Alice returned to the Berkshires in 2009 after Chuck's death. Alice lived with her daughter Barbara May in Richmond Mass. for several years, moving to Epoch at Melbourne assisted living two years ago. There she made many dear friends among residents and staff. Alice was predeceased by husband, Charles; and their eldest daughter, Dr. Patricia Medeiros. Patricia, English Dept. Chair at Scottsdale Community College, died unexpectedly in 2013 of cancer. After her death, a scholarship fund was created in her name by colleagues. Survivors include daughters, Barbara May (Christopher) of Richmond, Mass., and Joan Mazzeo of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as special caretakers, Pam Arace, Terry Tarsa, and Kayla Wixsom. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial celebration of Alice's life will be held at Epoch at Melbourne asssisted living, 140 Melbourne St., Pittsfield, Mass. on Monday April 6 at 3 p.m. All are welcome. Donations may be made to Scottsdale Community College, memo line to read 'Pat Medeiros scholarship fund' and sent to Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
