Aloyisus Tony Boykin
1953-2013 PITTSFIELD Aloyisus Tony Boykin, 60, formerly of Columbia Arms, Pittsfield, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Hillcrest Commons, after a long illness.
Born in Apopka, Florida, on June 4, 1953, a son of Dorothy L. Hicks Boykin and the late Albert Boykin, he graduated from Apopka High School.
Mr. Boykin enjoyed a 40-year career as a waiter in the hospitality industry. He worked at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, Cranwell Resort in Lenox, and most recently at the Old Country Buffet in Pittsfield, until taking ill in 2011.
He attended Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church.
Mr. Boykin leaves his mother, Dorothy, of Apopka, Fla.; his brother, Marvin L. Boykin of Somerset, N.J.; five sisters, Francina Boykin of Apopka, Fla., Gwenyth M. Boykin of Somerset, N.J., Shaunelia Scott of Apopka, Fla., Almetta V. Thomas of Orlando, Fla., and Myrna J. Bing of Ocoee, Fla.; his devoted aunt, Jennifer Moss of Worcester; and a host of nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Aloyisus Tony Boykin will be held Sunday, July 14, at 4 p.m., at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church. There are no calling hours. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray final expenses.
