Amelia M. Bordeau

1924 - 2016 PITTSFIELD: Mrs. Amelia M. Bordeau, 92, of Pittsfield, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 following a brief illness. Born on July 6, 1924, the daughter of Tommaso & Maria Biagini DiNicola, she was educated in the local schools graduating from Pittsfield High School. Amelia was employed for many years at Beloit Corporation, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Women's Club of Pittsfield and with her family was the hostess at the club's Blue Bird Camp on Richmond Pond for several years. Amelia enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to the casinos with her friends, traveling to New York with the Women's Club to numerous Broadway Shows and shopping sprees. Sunday afternoons of late were enjoyed playing cards with her brothers and sisters in law. She and her husband of 42 years, the late George C. Bordeau were married June 8, 1946 in the former St. Mary the Morning Star Church. He died on August 17, 1988. She is survived by her children, G. Richard "Dick" Bordeau and his wife, Theresa Toolan of Pittsfield and her daughter, Linda Shea of Lenox, and her brother, William DiNicola of Pittsfield. She is also survived by her daughter in law Margret Bordeau of Dalton, her five grandchildren, Tiffany Berman, Marybeth Bordeau Flynn, Karen Bordeau Powell, Jessica Shea Alston, and Jacquline Shea Bagnoli, and her three great grandchildren Logan Berman, Beau & Josephine Powell. She was predeceased by another son, Robert Bordeau, and her brothers Angelo and Thomas DiNicola. FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
