1912 - 2016 NORTH ADAMS Amelia V. Cronin, a native of North Adams passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 103 with her daughter at her side at Roberts Health Center in North Kingstown, RI. She was born in North Adams on November 6, 1912 a daughter of Francesco and Anna (Murano) Gamari. She was the widow of Cornelius P. Cronin who passed away on January, 29, 1974. They were married on August 5, 1939. She moved to Rhode Island in 2004 and lived with her daughter until 2008 when she became a resident of RHC where she was well known and very much loved. Amelia always enjoyed listening to music, reading and spending time with her family and friends. In later years her passion was playing bingo and participating in numerous activities at RHC. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh and sense of humor. Her smile could light up a room. Amelia is survived by one daughter, Mary Cronin-Whitney of Wakefield RI, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by one son, J. Peter Cronin of North Adams, her former daughter-in-law, Mary Anne (Huband) Cronin of Stephentown, NY; four grandsons, Sean Cronin, Michael Cronin, Patrick Cronin, Brett Whitney and his wife, Mary Beth. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Joseph Cronin, Michael Cronin, James Cronin, Andrew Whitney, and Allison Whitney, and many nieces and nephews along with her extended family of loving caregivers at Roberts Health Centre. Amelia was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters, Joseph, Anthony, Ernest, Michael, Henry, Silvio, Gerald, Rose Monterosso, and Theresa Rogers. FUNERAL NOTICE: Attendees are asked to wear pink, her favorite color which she wore every day. Funeral services for Amelia will be celebrated Wednesday January 13, 2016 at 12 Noon at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 11 to 12. Memorial donations may be made to a in care of the funeral home.
