Amy Cummings 1978 - 2012 PITTSFIELD Amy Cummings, 34, of Pittsfield, died suddenly, Tuesday, July 3, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, after being stricken with a brain injury. Family and friends are all greatly relieved that there wasn't any suffering. She was born in Pittsfield, May 20, 1978, the daughter of Louis and Bonnie Jones Cummings of Pittsfield. She was educated in local schools and received her GED in 2007. She was the key speaker at graduation ceremony and was a model for completion and continuation of education. She also attended Berkshire Community College. At the time of her death, she was employed at the Berkshire West Athletic Club in the Day Care. Amy had an incredible network of friends which were more like an extended family. She loved to work with local cheerleading programs and devoted most of her spare time to the Catholic Youth Center cheerleading. Amy was the recipient of the Pat Masiero Meade Award for the local cheerleading organization on March 30, 2012. Her family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of kindness, support and caring from relatives and friends. She always had a kind word and a smile on her face, along with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm as she touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed as she was a gift to her family and friends. Besides her parents of Pittsfield, she is survived by her beloved children, Shawndell and Love Elizabeth; her brother, Michael Cummings and his wife, Lisa; aunts and uncles; a niece and nephew, and many wonderful cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Brian Cummings. FUNERAL NOTICE: Amy Cummings, 34, of Pittsfield, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in Pittsfield, surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 5 p.m. at Pittsfield Church of Christ, 826 Valentine Road, Pittsfield with the Rev. Russell Moody, pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, a special account, the Shawndell and Love Elizabeth Cummings Educational Fund will be set up for the children's continuing education in care of the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
