Anita G. Weldon

1945-2012 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, that the family of Mrs. Anita G. Weldon, announce her passing on August 5, 2012 at the age of 66 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on December 20, 1945, the daughter of Maurice and Violet Lambert Gilmore, she was a 1963 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She also attended Brigham Young University.

Mrs. Weldon worked as a Program Manager for twenty two years at the former Information Resources Inc., a market research company in Pittsfield. She had formerly worked as an office manager at the former Adams Supermarket and also worked for the former Astro Beef.

Anita worked for many years as a waitress and enjoyed the many friends she made at area restaurants, including the Coach Light, Lenox House and the Log Cabin.

Mrs. Weldon enjoyed spending time with her family to whom she was affectionately known as "Ohma". She also traveled extensively and enjoyed scrapbooking and was a gourmet cook.

She leaves her husband, John Weldon, whom she married on October 24, 1964 at St. Mark's Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie W. Johnston and her husband Chester of Pittsfield and their children Meagan Trembley, Lauren Trembley, Matthew Johnston, Hunter Johnston, Morgan Quagliano, Noelle Perry and Scot Johnston and daughter Stacie A. Weldon of Hinsdale and her son Chad Supranowicz and her fiancee Chuck Danforth and his children Christopher, Abigal and Eric Danforth; three sisters, Edith Nicola of Colchester, Conn., Coralie Viner of Bradenton, Fla., and Cheryl Proccopio of Salisbury, Md.

She was predeceased by a brother, David Gilmore. Anita also leaves her beloved dog Pogo.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Anita G. Weldon will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA, with the Rev. James K. Joyce officiating. The family will continue to receive friends following the service from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
