Obituary Condolences

Anna T. Bilotta 1922-2012 PITTSFIELD Anna Teresa Bilotta, age 90, of 1108 North Street, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Monday, May 7, 2012. Born in Pittsfield on February 17, 1922, daughter of Mary and Belvino Cacalloro, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1940 and attended Berkshire Business College. For several years prior to her marriage she was employed as a secretary at General Electric Company. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Angelo F. Bilotta, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage in June of 2011. Anna was a life-long parishioner of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies Guild. After the closing of Mt. Carmel, she found her new spiritual home at St. Charles Church. Her deep faith in God gave her the strength to endure her share of life's challenges. She was blessed with the gifts of patience and kindness, a warm smile, twinkling green eyes, and a ready sense of humor. Anna lived life with a positive attitude, always thinking of others, finding the good in people, loving deeply, and forgiving readily. Among her many interests and talents were sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking nutritious meals, swimming with Angelo at the YMCA, and playing cards and cribbage. She carried on her family's tradition of making stuffed squid, fried dough, and Italian cookies at Christmas. Anna was fun-loving, adventurous, and a good story-teller, able to remember all the details. She and Angelo enjoyed 35 years of winter months in Myrtle Beach, first pulling a camper-trailer, and later relaxing in the comforts of Sea Mist Resort. She was her family's support system, our guiding light in matters big and small, and the life of our party. Left to grieve her loss until we meet again are husband Angelo, daughter Lynn, son David, sister Tina Cacalloro, nephews Joseph, James, and John Bilotta, nieces Teresa Mcmillan, Rosa Brown, and Gayle Sigmon, and many dear cousins and friends. Anna was predeceased by her brother Philip Cacalloro and her son-in-law John Morgan. FUNERAL NOTICE: In accordance with Anna's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Church on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory may be made to St. Charles Church or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, whose staff provided, in addition to excellent physical care, true kindness, comfort, and friendship.
