1929 - 2014 ADAMS Anna Grace Johnson, RN, 85, of Lynwood, Wash., a native of Adams, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, in Lynwood. She was born in Adams on Aug. 17, 1929, a daughter of the late George and Carrie (Mahar) Johnson. She attended schools in Adams, graduating from the former Adams High School in 1947. She graduated from the Bishop Memorial School of Nursing, Pittsfield, in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. Miss Johnson worked at the former Pittsfield General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Maternity Dept., and also was an assistant instructor of nurses. After several years of nursing in Pittsfield, she enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was stationed for several years at the United States Military Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany. While there, she was also able to travel to other countries including France, Italy, and Denmark. Following her Honorable Discharge, Anna settled in Seattle, Wash., where she continued working as a Registered Nurse in several hospitals and doctor's offices, until finally retiring to Lynwood. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Howcroft, of Williamstown, and by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, George Johnson, Jr. and Byron Johnson. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside committal service will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at 12 Noon in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. The Rev. Peter T. Elvin, Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Williamstown, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited. The PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
