Anna Liisa Koldys

1937 - 2013 STOCKBRIDGE Anna Liisa Koldys, 75, of Stockbridge, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Great Barrington on Oct. 27, 1937, daughter of James T. and Lempi Elli Rikkila Smith. Lisa was a 1955 graduate of the former Searles High School. A member of the Drama Club, Lisa was voted best actress and class clown, "A soft-spoken blonde with a magnetic personality.irrepressible" were just some of the words to describe Lisa.

Lisa worked as a telephone switchboard operator and later as the Head of the Reception Department at Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge. Lisa was extremely dedicated to her work. Affectionately called Dr. K by her colleagues, Lisa was recognized for her tireless work, kindness and compassion for those she supported for over forty years.

Lisa was a communicant and active member of the church community of Housatonic; she was a member of the former All Saint's Church, Housatonic where she was baptized, and a member of its Rosary Sodality and now was a communicant of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church, Corpus Christi Parish and a member of its Rosary Sodality.

Known as Mom, Cioci Lisa and Nani to her family, Lisa was married to Frank John Koldys of Stockbridge on June 16, 1956, in All Saints Church. Frank preceded her in death after nearly 50 years of marriage on June 1, 2006.

She leaves a daughter, Jaclyn Ann Koldys, and son, Francis James Koldys. Lisa celebrated four grandchildren, Matthew Hamilton of Stockbridge and Christina, Nicholas and Alex Koldys of Nashville.

Lisa cared deeply for many during her lifetime and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Anna Liisa Koldys who died March 22 will be held on Tuesday, March 26, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church with the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In keeping with Lisa's wishes there will be no calling hours.
