Anna Rycerz Obituary
Anna Marie Boulanger Rycerz

LEE Anna Marie Deschenes Boulanger Rycerz, 94, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire. A resident of Hampton, N.H., for nearly 30 years, Anna was born in Somersworth, N.H., to Francois (Frank) and Alice Deschenes. She attended McIntosh Business School and became a bookkeeper, then went to work at the Prudential in Dover, where she met life-long friends with whom she still socialized. In 1943, Anna joined the Navy W.A.V.E.S., a service of which she was very proud. She was stationed in Minneapolis, where she worked on the base newsletter. She married Maurice J. ("Lefty") Boulanger of Dover, N.H., in 1949 and lived in Epping and Henniker, N.H., and Groton and Lee, Mass., following Maurice through his career as an educator. While in Lee, where Maurice was superintendent of schools, she worked for many years in the office at High Lawn Farm, a job she loved. After Maurice died in 1981, she moved back to her beloved seacoast, where she enjoyed walking along the beach, gardening, reading The Boston Globe, and meeting old and new friends. In the late '80s, a beau from her time in the Navy looked her up after 50 years. Anna married Gerhardt (Gery) Rycerz in 1990 and they had 13 happy years together before he died. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother, Paul, and a grandson, Jacob Boulanger. She is survived by four children, three grandchildren, a large number of nieces and nephews, and her many friends. Anna was a communicant of St. Theresa's Parish in Rye, NH. She has donated her body to science. There will be a celebration of her life in the season of the year she loved best spring.
