1913 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Mrs. Anne M. Callahan, 101, formerly of Abbott St., passed away early Saturday morning, February 28, 2015 at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox. Born in Dalton, MA on April 4, 1913 the daughter of John E. and Annie Kennedy Woodcome, she attended schools in Dalton and moved to Pittsfield in 1941. Mrs. Callahan worked as the Librarian for the Town of Dalton for 20 years, retiring in 1979. Ann was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. She had also worked the election polls for Ward 1A in Pittsfield for many years. She enjoyed sports; especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and she also enjoyed reading. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen W. Callahan, who passed away on June 14, 1991. She is survived by her daughter, Anne M. Miller and her husband, Leo of Pittsfield and a sister, Mary Woodcome of Dalton; three grandchildren, Theresa A. Kline and her husband, Benjamin II, Mary J. Turner and her husband, David and Timothy J. Miller and 7 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas and Patrick Kline, Kristena, Kasey and Zachary Turner and Melanie Mazzarella. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Anne M. Callahan will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 9 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph Cemetery.
