Annette Curran Conlon

1926-2012 LENOX Annette Curran Conlon, 86, of Walker Street died peacefully at her home Monday, Aug, 13, 2012.

Born in Boston on March 27, 1926, daughter of Maurice J. Curran Jr. and Annette LaFrance Curran of Andover. She attended schools there and graduated from Marymount School in Tarrytown, NY and Garland School in Boston. She worked as a legal secretary in Boston before marrying.

Annette lived in Pittsfield with her late husband, Arthur J. Conlon Jr. for 40 years before moving to Kimball Farms in Lenox in 2006.

A long time member of the Berkshire Garden Club, she was an avid flower arranger who did floral displays for Seranac Tanglewood and won many competitions. An active member of the community, she was involved with Tea Club and Berkshire Country Day School. Her knowledge and love of antiques, gems, and jewelry took her to antique shows, flea markets, and auctions throughout New England and Florida.

She touched all who knew her with her generous spirit, graciousness, and kind heart. She loved to share stories that captivated family, friends, and strangers and her sense of humor, wit, and warmth endeared to all.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Nunez and her brother Maurice J. Curran III; daughter Joyce Conlon and her husband, Hilary Barber; son Gary Conlon and his wife, Shanta; Stephen Conlon and his wife Mary; and grandchildren Patrick, David, Isabelle, and Andrew Conlon and Alex and Julia Barber.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Lenox. Visiting hours will be held at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St. in Lenox on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Berkshires, 877 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201
