1929 - 2014 DUNEDIN, FL Anthony, 85, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, Sept. 2, after a two month battle with Colon cancer and the C DIFF virus. He was born on Feb. 24, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y. After growing up in Brooklyn, and graduating from Alexander Hamilton High School, he joined the Army for 2 1/2 years. After serving the Army, he returned to civilian life in Brooklyn where he worked on Wall Street, then met and married his wife of 59 years, Rose Marie, having married May 1, 1955. Anthony and Rose Marie moved their three children and raised them in Pittsfield, Mass. In 1989, Anthony and Rose Marie moved to West Coast of Florida where they have resided to this day in close proximity to their sons. Affectionately nicknamed Dr. Hex, he is fondly remembered by many friends for his sense of humor and welcoming demeanor. He was an avid sports fan and partner with son Gregg in M&G Thoroughbred Racing Stable for the last 4 years. Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Saverio and Marie, and his brothers, Lenny and Danny. He is survived by his brother, Jerry and sister, Rosie, his wife, Rose Marie, his three sons, Glenn, Gregg and Gerald all located on the west coast of Florida, and their wives, Alicia, Sylvia and Tricia, and a granddaughter, Olivia, daughter of Glenn and Alicia, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Countryside CC in Clearwater, Fla. on Friday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 10 p.m. Anyone who felt touched by Anthony is welcome to attend Anthony's Celebration of Life.
