Anthony L. Gattasso

1920-2013 Mr. Anthony L. Gattasso 93, of 69 Stoddard Avenue, Pittsfield, died Friday October 18, 2013 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. He was born in Richmond, Mass. on August 1, 1920 a son of the late Girolamo and Giustina (Burtolo) Gattasso. He attended Richmond and Pittsfield Schools. He was employed by the General Electric CO. for 8 years as a Tool and Die Maker and then was employed by Marland Mold CO. for 35 years and for 30 years was Manager of Manufacturing for the company and he retired in 1983. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church and was a former member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club and Sons of Italy Itam Lodge No. 564 of Pittsfield. Anthony enjoyed Golfing, Gardening, and spending time with his family. His wife the former Jeannette (Mermet) Gattasso died on May 23, 2009 and they were married on July 25, 1942 at Corpus Christi, Church in Housatonic, Mass. Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Gattasso and his wife Sandra of Pittsfield, and Donald Gattasso of Clearwater, Fla. four grandchildren, Corinna, Bryan, Tiffany, Brad Gattasso. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother, Twin Sister Antoinette Gattasso and Mary Sinico, and Brother John Gattasso. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME 5 Elm St. Pittsfield,. MA. 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. Charles Church with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Partick's Cemetery, West Stockbridge. Calling hours will be Monday, October 21, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
