Rev. Anthony Julius Jutt
1926 - 2014 HOUSATONIC The Rev. Anthony Julius Jutt, formerly of Housatonic, died July 17, 2014, at Mary's Meadow. He was born in Westfield on Nov. 17, 1926, the son of Konstanty and Beatrice Morris Jutt. Father Jutt was educated in Westfield Schools and graduated from Westfield High School, class of 1944. He attended St. Charles Minor Seminary in Cantonville, Md., graduating in 1945, and then went on to the Seminary Philosophy and Grand Seminary in Montreal, Canada, from 1945 to 1951. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 16, 1951 in St. Michael's Cathedral in Springfield by Most Reverend Christopher J. Weldon D.D. Bishop of Springfield. Father Jutt served as a Knights of Columbus Chaplin in Hawley from June-August of 1951, while being a curate at St. Jerome, Holyoke. He then served at St. Joseph, Shelburne Falls; Holy Trinity and Blessed Sacrament, Greenfield; Immaculate Conception, West Springfield; St. Brigid, Amherst. He was appointed pastor of Corpus Christi, Housatonic, on Sept. 26, 1972, where he served until his retirement on Dec. 30, 2006. In 1992, he was given the additional pastorship of All Saints in Housatonic. His 34 year pastorate devotion and dedication to the parish will long be remembered. Father Jutt is survived by one sister, Anne M. Jutt of Westfield and his longtime secretary and housekeeper, Nancy O'Grady. Father Jutt was predeceased by three brothers, the Rev. John Jutt, his twin, the Rev. Julius Jutt and Joseph Jutt; by two sisters, Nelle Jutt and Mary B. Jutt and by sister-in-law, Helen Jutt. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for the Rev. Anthony J. Jutt, who died July 17, will be held on Tuesday, July 22, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Corpus Christi Church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Westfield at 2 p.m. Friends will be received on Monday, July 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic.
