1918 - 2014 NORTH ADAMS Armand Gerald Perreault, 95, of 227 Franklin St., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at his home. He was born in Leominster on May 4, 1918, son of Raoul and Aurora (Spring) Perreault. He attended Leominster schools and graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg. He graduated from Holy Cross College with the class of 1948. Armand was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the 10th Armored Divison, participating in the Invasion of Normandy. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Armand was also made an honorary citizen of the French town he helped liberate. He was last employed as the French language teacher at Drury High School until his retirement in 1983. He had also taught at the former Worcester Junior College. Following his retirement, Armand was an active volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital for many years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, where he served as a lector. Survivors include his sister, Nancy Perreault of Hubbardston, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Perreault. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Armand Perreault will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. Cecelia's Cemetery in Leominster.
