1935 - 2014 DALTON Barbara A. McKeever, 78, of 67 Pease Avenue, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Craneville Place of Dalton, where she had resided for the past fourteen months. Born in North Adams on Sept. 2, 1935, the daughter of William L. and Beatrice G. Daub Denery, she was educated in North Adams schools and was a 1953 graduate of Drury High School, and a 1956 graduate of the Henry W. Bishop, III Memorial School of Nursing. Mrs. McKeever was employed by Pittsfield General Hospital and its successor, Berkshire Medical Center, where she was a registered nurse on 5 West. She retired in 1997 with 41 years service. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. Mrs. McKeever's greatest joys were doing for others and spending time with her family. Her former husband, Francis T. McKeever, whom she married May 18, 1957, in St. Joseph Church in Pittsfield, died July 10, 1983. Mrs. McKeever is survived by two daughters, Maureen B. Burke and her fiance, Mark Stamatis, of Pittsfield, and Susan B. Carroll and her husband, Sean, of Dalton; four sons, James F. McKeever of Pittsfield, Timothy F. McKeever of Dalton, Shawn F. McKeever of Adams, and Francis T. McKeever, Jr., of Adams; a sister, Florence Prue of Preston City, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, Jessica Burke, Christopher Burke, Stephen Burke, Jason McKeever, Meghan McKeever, Molly McKeever, Casey McKeever, Courtney McKeever, Elizabeth McKeever, Jaime McKeever, and Corinna Carroll, and a great-granddaughter, Daniella. She was pre-deceased by a brother, William Denery, and by a sister, Margaret Sessions. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Barbara A. McKeever will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Academy or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, both in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
