Belle B. Controy

1924-2013 Belle B. Controy, 89, of 34 Lindsay Drive, Dalton, formerly of Kirchner Road, died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at her home. Born a Southern Belle on July 2, 1924, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Samuel B. and Edna B. Stewart Bryant, and was a graduate of Jonesborough High School. Mrs. Controy was a homemaker. She had, at one time, worked in the leather goods and jewelry department at the former England Brothers Department Store. Mrs. Controy loved being with her family, especially time spent with her granddaughter. She was an excellent cook who also enjoyed writing. Her husband, Allan T. Controy, whom she married October 10, 1945, died May 3, 1998. Mrs. Controy is survived by a son, Craig A. Controy, of Dalton; a daughter, Kimberly A. Rusk and her husband, Richard A. Rusk, of Dalton; and her granddaughter, Katelyn M. Rusk of Albuquerque, New Mexico. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Belle B. Controy will be held Wednesday, December 11, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will be in Ashuelot Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
