Bernard H. Gagne 1940-2012 Mr. Bernard H. Gagne, 72 of 18 Harrison Ave., North Adams, died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in Adams, on January 10, 1940, son of the late Bernard and Marceline (Fillion) Gardner. He attended schools in Adams, including Adams High School. Mr. Gagne was previously employed at James Hunter Machine Co. for many years and most recently worked at Excelsior Printing in North Adams. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and served as a volunteer at the former Notre Dame Bingo Program. Mr. Gagne enjoyed bowling and was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Celtics fan. Mr. Gagne is survived by his wife and caregiver, Nancy (Scarbo) Gagne, whom he married August 19, 1961, as well as two sons, Bruce M. Gagne of North Adams, and Steven B. Gagne and his wife, Victoria, of Adams. He also leaves six grandchildren, Timothy, Heather, Ashley, Steven, Miranda and Tiffany, as well as 9 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Thomas Gardner and his wife, Diane, of NC, a sister Joyce Beauchemin and her husband, Richard, of Adams, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bernard Gagne on Friday March 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
