Bernard James Potts

1930-2012 LENOX Bernard James Potts, 82, of 210 Main Street, died Friday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Bernard was born October 1, 1930 in Pittsfield, the son of Frank M. and Mildred E. Newbery Potts.

He was educated in Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. He then attended Harts School of typing and Accounting and the International Correspondents School of Elevator Repair. He went right to work in the elevator business as a mechanic and eventually became President/Owner of Bay State Elevator, retiring in 1992.

Since retiring Ben has enjoyed spending time with his family and he had several hobbies.

He was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Potts who died in 2000. They were married April 7, 1950.

Survivors include his sons; Michael and his wife Susan, Larri and his wife Nora, Ricki and his wife Cindi, Bernard John, and Cory and his wife Helen. He also leaves eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral of Mr. Bernard J. Potts of Lenox will be a private service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Ben to Hospice Care of the Berkshires, in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
