Bertha E. Hasty 1916 - 2012 PITTSFIELD Bertha Elvira Erickson Hasty, 95, of 379 East St. Pittsfield, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Unity, WI on March 2, 1916, daughter of Viktor and Anna Sophia (Josephson) Erickson. She moved to Quincy at an early age and attended schools there. Bertha was last employed by the Massachusetts School for Crippled Children in Canton, MA until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Weymouth. Bertha moved to Pittsfield in 2004 and attended Hope Church in Lenox. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Bertha made her own clothes. She was a fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team. She was the widow of Leon Hasty who died on Feb. 5, 1971. They were married on Oct. 11, 1941. Survivors include one son, Rodney L. Hasty, and his wife, Linda, of Pittsfield; one daughter, Linda A. Mulanax of Canton, OH; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Six sisters and one brother are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Bertha Hasty will be Saturday, March 3, 2012. at 10:00 AM at Hope Church, 259 Kemble St. Lenox. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield will be Friday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Neighbors First Inc., PO Box 722, Presque Isle, ME 04769 or the Berkshire Institute for Christian Studies, 249 Kemble St. Lenox, MA 01240.
