Bryan J. Furlong

1976 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Mr. Bryan J. Furlong, 37, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Pittsfield, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014. Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 8, 1976, the son of Richard Furlong and Kathryn Phillips Furlong he attended Pittsfield schools before moving to Kingman, Ariz. in 1991. Mr. Furlong joined the US Army in 2002, stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. He did a tour of duty in Iraq in 2003. After his discharge, he moved to Nashville where he worked as a mechanic for Gaylord Opryland Transportation. Bryan's greatest joy was spending time with his daughter, Autumn. He also enjoyed working on antique cars and was an avid baseball fan. He played in the Pittsfield Little League when he was younger. Besides his father, Richard Furlong and his wife, Joanne, of Kingman, Ariz., and his mother, Kathryn Furlong of Pittsfield, he is survived by his daughter, Autumn Grace Furlong; a sister, Brenda Furlong of Kingman, Ariz.; a brother, Paul Bigwood of Nashville, Tenn., and his former wife, Theresa Nichols Furlong, of Tennessee. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mr. Bryan J. Furlong will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield with the Rev. William Furey officiating. Burial with full military honors will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 9 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday, prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in his memory.
