Byron R. Carr

1943 - 2014 DALTON Byron R. Carr, 70, of 31 Lake St., died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield. He was born in Pittsfield on Sept. 21, 1943, a son of the late Chauncey and Vera (Wheeler) Carr. He attended schools in Dalton and graduated from the former Dalton High School. Mr. Carr worked for many years as a meat cutter for Stop & Shop Supermarket in Pittsfield until retiring. Earlier he had worked for the former Adams Supermarket in Pittsfield. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and NASCAR. He enjoyed playing golf and softball. He is survived by his former wife, Nancy (Bellinger) Carr; two daughters, Patricia Carr-Cole and her wife, Carrie, of Dalton and Jennifer Carr of Lanesborough; two sisters, Janet Ellsworth and her husband, John, and Patricia Langenback; two brothers, Ronald Carr and his wife, Helen, and Duane Carr, two grandchildren, Mitchell Beauchamp and Olivia Carr-Cole, and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton.
