Carmella L. Nardi 1919-2012 GREAT BARRINGTON Carmella L. Nardi, 92, died Sunday February 26, 2012 at home. She was born in New Jersey on Nov. 1, 1919 daughter of Domenick and Laura DeRienzo Cardillo. She worked at the former Great Barrington Manufacturing, and Wash and Dry in Canaan, Conn. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a member of its choir. Carmella enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening. Her husband Paul A. Nardi Sr, predeceased her on November 30, 1990. She leaves two sons, Paul A. Jr, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ashley Falls, Domenick Sr. and his wife, Anita, of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Laura M. Sanchez, of Sandisfield; three brothers Herman Cardillo, of Lee, Gerald Cardillo of Glendale, and Frank Cardillo, of Worcester; three sisters, Jennie Carilli, of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. and Florida, Julia Drummond, of California, and Phyllis Cardillo, of Lee; a half brother, Joseph Frainee, of California; six grandchildren, Nazario, Ricardo, and Dina Sanchez, Maria, Domenick Jr, and Norma Jean Nardi; and six great grandchildren. Besides her husband Carmella was predeceased by six brothers, Vincent, Nicholas, Anthony, Ernest, John and Richard; and one sister, Marion Cardillo. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Carmella L. Nardi who died February 26, will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church with the Reverend William P. Murphy, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Sandisfield Center Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Carmella's memory may be made to the Smile Train or Hospice Care in the Berkshires, both in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA. 01230.
