Caroline Josephine Hermanski 1923-2012 Caroline Josephine Hermanski, 88, of Berkshire Place, formerly of West Union Street, Pittsfield, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at Berkshire Place. Born in Cheshire on August 27, 1923, the daughter of John and Josephine Orlowski Ryczek, she was educated in Cheshire schools. Mrs. Hermanski was employed by General Electric Company for more than 25 years. She had worked and as a spool wrapper and in the Maintenance Department and in the Ordnance Systems Division. She retired in 1988. She had also worked for the former Adams Supermarket and later part-time at Sears. Mrs. Hermanski was a communicant of the former Holy Family Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, as well as traveling, especially to Hawaii, and going to Mohegan Sun Casino. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Majek Hermanski, whom she married in June 1947 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams, died February 4, 1970. Mrs. Hermanski is survived by three sons, William R. Hermanski, James J. Hermanski and his wife, Kathy, and Michael E. Hermanski, all of Pittsfield; and a daughter, Tricia E. Kirchner and her husband, Joseph, of Pittsfield; ten grandchildren, Lorrie Wechter, Tracey Wechter, Sarah Hermanski, Jodi Hermanski, Ashley Errichetto, Lindsay Hermanski, Jeffrey Hermanski, Mitchell Hermanski, Haley Kirchner, and Joey Kirchner, and five great grandchildren; as well as a son-in-law, Roger Wechter. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Carol Lynn Wechter and a grandson, Kevin Wechter. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Caroline Josephine Hermanski will be held Friday, May 25, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 at the DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Hermanski may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
