(Perkins) Garrity, age 80, of 92 Highview Dr., a patient at Mount Carmel Care Center of Lenox, "went home to be with her husband Jim", Wednesday morning January 21, 2015. She was born in Pittsfield, on May 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Andrew B. and Mary F. (Cullen) Perkins. She was educated in local schools and was a 1952 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School. Upon raising her family, she became employed for 20 years as a salesperson in the children's dept. of Sears & Roebuck Co. A communicant of Saint Charles Church, she was a Eucharistic Minister and a Parish Greeter at the Saturday four o'clock Mass. She had a firm and undying faith in God with a fundamental belief in doing the right thing and being nice to people. Additionally, she volunteered with the Parish Food Pantry program at Saint Charles, enjoyed doing her Crossword and Word Search puzzles. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and enjoyed listening to the "Sox" on the radio. She cherished spending time with her friends and neighbors, drinking coffee and catching up on current events. Carolyn had an unyielding devotion to her family. Ever the 'Proud Grandma and GiGi,' she followed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities and reveled in their athletic and theater accomplishments. The simple pleasures of life made Carolyn very happy. Her husband and the love of her life for 46 years, James W. Garrity, whom she married Jan. 14, 1956 at Saint Joseph Church, passed away on October 16, 2002. She is survived by her sons, James A. Garrity and his wife, Susan, of Pittsfield and Timothy J.
