Catherine Dixon Robinson 1930-2012 BECKET Catherine Dixon Robinson, 81, of 2299 Main Street, Becket, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Haven, Conn., on November 7, 1930, a daughter of George and Estelle Adams Dixon, she was a 1949 graduate of Hillhouse High School and a 1950 graduate of Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital. From 1967 to 1985, Mrs. Robinson was a consultant for the State Department of Education in Connecticut. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Becket Federated Church where she was a Deaconess. She played bingo at St. Mary's School in Lee. Mrs. Robinson enjoyed her home, her family, and her grandchildren. She leaves her husband, William F. Robinson, Sr., whom she married September 13, 1952, in the Dixwell Avenue Congregational Church in New Haven, Conn. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, William F. Robinson, Jr., and his wife, Cherri, of Becket, Steven F. Robinson also of Becket, and David A. Robinson of Stillwater, Okla.; a daughter, Sharon E. Robinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother James Dixon of South Carolina; five sisters, Ruby Moore, Ernestyne Mayers, Pauline Lathrop, and Lucy Phillips, all of Hamden, Conn., and Linda Fripp of New Haven, Conn.; as well as ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother, George Dixon, and by a sister, Stella Payne. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Catherine Dixon Robinson will be held Monday, March 5, at 12:30 p.m., at the Becket Federated Church with Rev. Kevin C. Smail, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the North Becket Cemetery in the Spring. Calling hours for Mrs. Robinson will be held Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME and on Monday, beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Robinson may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
