Charlene W. Abderhalden, 86, formerly of 25 William Parkway in Lee, died Sunday at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox
She was born in Pittsfield on December 31, 1927 the daughter of Charles and Juanita Ariail Weed. She spent her younger years in Stockbridge and was a 1946 graduate of the former Williams High School.
She worked as a telephone operator in both Stockbridge and Lee until 1962 when she became a dispatcher for the town of Lee retiring in 1993.
She was a member of the former St. George's Episcopal Church in Lee.
Her husband Walter "Link" Abderhalden whom she married October 5, 1947 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Stockbridge died May 7, 1999
Charlene leaves her daughters Linda A. Lewis and her husband Charles of Otis, Debra A. Brouker and her husband Jeffrey of Becket, her sister Florence Andrews of Stockbridge, her four grandchildren Debra and Blain Lewis, Ashley and Nicole Brouker and two Great Grandchildren Danica Poirier and Connor Lewis.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The Funeral will be held Friday at 11am at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee, with the Rev. Thomas H. Damrosch rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Stockbridge, Officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee. Visiting hours will be on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 PM at the Funeral Home.
