Chris "Gus" Pereglou, Sr.

1926 - 2015 LENOX DALE Chris "Gus" Pereglou, Sr., 89, died Friday, August 14, 2015 at Laurel Lake Rehabilitation Center in Lee. He was born on July 11, 1926 the son of Costa and Georgia Pereglou and educated in the Lenox schools. "Gus" served in the United States Army during WWII and worked at General Electric, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Lee Lions Club for over 50 years, past District Governor of 33Y, a member of the Emergency Sight and Hearing and he received the Melvin Jones Award. Mr. Pereglou was predeceased by his wife, the former Phyllis Tyler, whom he married on June 24, 1951. She died in October of 1994. He was also predeceased by his son, Chris "Gus" Pereglou, Jr. who died in December of 2009. Mr. Pereglou leaves behind two daughters, Dawn Choisy of Nyantuck, CT and Tina Lynch and her husband, Bob of Lee; a sister, Beth Georgeoplous of West Peabody, MA; five grandchildren; Candice Cahalan and her husband, Tom, Casey Rich and her husband, Tory, Brianna Appleton and her husband, Keith, Erik Choisy and Kyle Choisy; and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for "Gus" will be held on Wednesday, August 19th, 2015 at 11am at the Kelly Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Lenox Dale. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 10am until the time of the service. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the Porch Light VNA in c/o the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main Street, Lee, MA 01238.
