1952 - 2014 NEWBURYPORT, MA After a valiant 26 year battle with MS, Christine Kirk died peacefully on January 19, 2014. She leaves her husband of 35 years, David E. Levine; son, Major Seth Levine, US Army (Ret) and his wife, Christy, and her grandson, Jakob; and son, Joshua Levine. She was predeceased by her parents, Norman Kirk, PhD and Lois Kirk of Lenox. Christine was born in Schenectady, NY and was a graduate of Taconic High School. She graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a BFA and was a successful graphic designer until MS robbed her of some of her eyesight. She and David were married on December 30, 1978. They lived in Boston, NY, Newburyport and Ipswich before moving overseas for 20 years for David's job with GE. They then spent 8 years in Europe split between Milan, Madrid, Paris and London and shared 9 years in Asia split between Singapore and Hong Kong. Christine's intelligence, wit and charm overcame any cultural barriers, and she reveled in the opportunity to explore the world's cultures, food and fashion. She adored Venice and Paris, especially, but had strong friendships in all the cities in which she lived. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christine's name would be appreciated to the Newburyport Salvation Army, Jeanne Geiger Center or Pettengill House.
