Christine M. VanBramer

1937 - 2016 Christine M. VanBramer, 79, of Pittsfield, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016, surrounded by her family, at the home of Her daughter Melissa. Born in Pittsfield on September 6, 1937 the daughter of Ernest N. and Helen F. MacDonald Bertrand, she attended Pittsfield Schools. Christine worked for several local businesses and was a Courier for Berkshire Learning Center for 6 years, retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. Christine is survived by her seven children, Linda Dascani, Melissa Sears (Jammie), Kenneth (Debra), Steven (Fay), Thomas (Sandra), James and Mark (Marie); a brother, Howard E. Bertrand; 15 grandchildren, Dominic Dascani, Paul Dascani, Anthony Sears, Cassandra Sears, Alexander Sears, April Quintero, Amber VanBramer, Cheyenne VanBramer, Jessica Van-Bramer, Larry VanBramer, Catherine VanBramer, Stephanie VanBramer, Jennifer VanBramer, Phillip Van-Bramer and Meaghan VanBramer and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her very close friend Donna Girard. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Bertrand and her former husband, James E. VanBramer The family would like to thank HospiceCare in the Berkshires for the kind and compassionate care they gave Christine during her illness. Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Christine M. VanBramer will be Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. Following cremation, burial will take place Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Cemetery in Great Barrington (Rte.7).
