Cindy J. Wood 1962-2012 Cindy J. Wood, faithful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May 8th at the youthful age of 50 following a brave, two-year battle with cancer. She was pleased to be at her home on the beautiful Cheshire Lake, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on March 9, 1962 in Pittsfield, Cindy spent her life making the world special through her wit, charm, and skills as a master landscaper. Cindy is the daughter of Charlene (Vernier) Wood of Cheshire and the late William H. Wood. She is also the loving sister to William Wood and his wife, Dawn, of Reno, Nev., and adoring aunt to Brianna and Keegan Wood. Cindy will be sadly missed by her countless friends from her many walks of life who she enjoyed and who enjoyed her immensely. Cindy will be fondly remembered as the light in any setting she graced. She enjoyed music and would sing the soundtracks to Jesus Christ Superstar and Rocky Horror Picture Show word-for-word whenever the opportunity would present itself. She also loved to dance, especially to Celluloid Heroes by The Kinks and to any band she was able to see live. She enjoyed traveling to visit her brother and his family and loved the beach, hiking, and her pets, Rocky and Hawkeye. Cindy was a graduate of Lenox High School and attended the University of Massachusetts. Cindy worked for many years in the human service field prior to changing careers to her true passion, landscaping. She worked at Webster-Ingersoll in Sheffield many years prior to opening her own landscaping business with a partner, Kendrick and Wood. She enjoyed horses, ice fishing, and gardening. Cindy is also survived by her great aunt, Juliet Campbell, of Pittsfield, great aunt And uncle, Germaine and Jake Barnini, of Pittsfield, aunt and uncle, Marcia and Joe Madison of North Fort Myers, Fla., and her many cousins.
