Clara M. Andognini

1925 - 2015 LEE Clara M. Andognini, 90, of Sharyn Drive died Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in East Lee on April 19, 1925 the daughter of Arthur and Delia Lasher Dewkett. She graduated from Lee High School in 1943 and then went to work at the former Smith Paper Co. in Lee where she met the love of her life, James Andognini. They were married on June 14, 1952. He predeceased her on August 26, 1994. She became a homemaker, mother and helped on the family dairy farm in South Lee with her parents, two sisters, niece, Betty, nephew, John and her daughter. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cross stitch and playing dominos with Jeanne Brown. She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara Comalli with whom she resided with, her sister, Leda Dewkett of South Lee, her brother, William (Brub) Dewkett and his wife, Jenny of Lee and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Dewkett and her sister, Delia "Sis" Siok. She also leaves behind her two kitties, Nick and Nate and granddogs, Tessa Grace (her protectors) and Bella Kate. A special thanks goes to her caregivers, Carole Reynolds and Brenda Reidy who made her life the last few years so happy. Their nickname for her was "Scooby". Thank you to the Step Down Unit and 2 South at BMC and Hospice Care of the Berkshires for her wonderful care. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Church in Lenox Dale with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee. Visiting hours will be on Friday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, Hospice Care in the Berkshires or the Renovation Fund for St. Vincent dePaul Church in care of the Kelly Funeral Home at 3 Main St. Lee, MA 01238.
